Merry Christmas Emerson!
So today I went out to attempt to finish all my xmas shopping. Luckily Emerson got a little treat, which some of it she can wear next xmas. I got all 4 pieces for under $10! So if you need to buy clothes for a little one Old Navy is having some really good deals. Now if I could just figure out baby sizing I would be good. Do 3 month olds where 0-3 or 3-6??? I don't get it. Hopefully she'll fit into these. :) BTW sorry for the weird pic angles. I don't have a camera and this was my attempt with my laptop.

Name revealed.
So we have chosen a name. Not recently but I guess we are just getting around to letting everyone else in on the secret. We have had it picked out since my ultrasound in October. Her name will be Emerson Kaye Landis. Emerson just because I love it, and Kaye after my Mom. My SIL kindly pointed out her monogram will be ELK. haha. Which is better than a whole lot of other initials people's names spell. So we are very excited to call her by name and have that part of the equation squared away. This w.e. Emerson was treated to lots of music. We think she might have a thing for music since she went crazy each time. Friday we went to our church's christmas musical. She bounced around the whole time. Then Saturday we went to see John Legend, which was awesome!! She kicked and squirmed for the whole four hours. I can just see her now dancing as a toddler. Maybe she will have some moves like Mark. In growth updates she is probably around 2lbs and the midwife says by my next appt. at 30 weeks they should be able to feel her position. Right now she is still doing flips quite often and always keeping me surprised as to where she is. According to the nest she is the size of an eggplant. Which I can definitely attest to when she feels like bouncing on my bladder. Mark has also even heard the heartbeat by putting his head to my belly. Pretty cool. I hope to have more frequent updates in the future. Stay tuned!

23 week belly pics
Here are my 23 week belly pics one week late. Little chica has been quite a kicker lately. I can literally see my belly move which is a little creepy and fun at the same time. I'm slowly transitioning into maternity clothes. Finally! I can still wear my pants with my bellaband but it's pretty painful. Luckily a friend gave me two pairs of maternity pants and it's awesome. Feels so much better! I did buy a long sleeve maternity tee two a few weeks back and it's almost already too small. :( So I'm trying to hold off as long as possible as it seems my clothes aren't gone to have much longevity. For now I'm stretching out my poor clothes and looking ridiculous. In other news we started childbirth classes and I love it! Mark and I are really enjoying them and learning a lot. One of the best parts of the class is the homemade snacks. haha. We are also learning to tune out negativity. So if you don't have anything positive to say I don't want to hear it! ;) This means please don't tell me how much pain I'll be in, or that I'm nuts. I'll survive and I'll be much better off without the horror stories. Now that's off my chest...We also have started the nursery. Paint color is picked out, and the crib assembled. I'll post update pics when ever I get them uploaded. Mia on the other hand is a little bummed her bed is gone. But, it has forced her to spend more time with us. I've seen her more in the past week then I've seen her in the past 3 years. To make the transition easier I place her bed in the floor, so she hangs out there during the day wondering what the heck is going on. I started saying the word baby to her the other day and she whined. I'm not really sure what that means but I think she is sensing all the changes and doesn't know what to make of it. Poor little pup.

21 Week Baby Bump
So I had a mini milestone this week a stranger recognized I was pregnant! Finally it's starting to looking completely baby and no flab. Although I've been working a temp job for a month now and no one has noticed that I'm expecting. Mark and I have made some progress in planning for the baby. This past w.e. we got bedding! It's very cute and I'll post pics whenever I get to taking them. As far as cleaning out the room and changing it into a nursery.....still just boxes and a big mess. I have a feeling we'll be in a rush. My next task is to convince Mark to go register with me. The thought of looking at baby stuff for hours is pure torture but we have to go eventually.
Last week I got to "baby test" the pets. I baby-sat an infant for a few hours and surprisingly Mia and Marlow weren't awful. That meaning there was any meanness. Marlow didn't want anything to do with the situation staying completely across the room. Mia was curious and even seem concerned and whimpered when the baby cried. Very sweet I thought. So hopefully I won't have as much work cut out for me as I thought. Here is a pic of my cute pets enjoying a nap. This is our future nursery rocker which Marlow has adopted as his own. :)

It's a Girl!!!
So I'm finally updating after a long absence. We had our big ultrasound this past Friday and we are thrilled to be having a little girl. At first we were a little nervous since she had her legs properly crossed. But eventually she wiggled so we could see. So my mother's intuition is completely crap as I w
as sure it was a boy. I even insisted the u/s check repeatedly for hidden boy parts. She said from all angles and 15 views it's definitely a girl. Also our little one
appears to be quite flexible with her legs wrapped up around her head. Overall in was very exciting and she is healthy and right on schedule. I have a couple videos I'll post once I can figure out how to do it on youtube. Not Positive on this but the one on the bottom I think this is her head, arms, and legs. She's all balled up. The other one is the baby profile with head, spine, and legs. 19 week belly pics below.

In case you missed it....
Here is the counting dog from Oprah yesterday. I couldn't figure out how to upload it. But, you can click the link to see it. It kinda makes me feel bad it took two years to teach Mia to shake.

16 weeks
Things are starting to grow in there. I can officially no longer button my pants. Not like before where I left it undone so it was more comfortable they literally are not going to fit. Thank goodness I bought a bellaband. This week the baby is the size of an avocado and has eyelashes and eyebrows formed. Also is starting to form ear bones so it will be able to hear my voice. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will find out what is in there so I can stop calling the baby "it."

Bedding Selections
I've been lurking around for crib bedding and surprisingly there is very little that I like. I don't love all the bunnies, lambs, and "baby stuff." So narrowing down my choices was pretty easy! So assuming that the stores still have these items in stock in a month I've got that out of the way.
*Baby Girl Bedding*
Here is the girl selection. Although i won't be using the frilly crib skirt or the matchy curtains. I love all the bright colors in the flowers.
*Baby Boy Bedding*
Circle print bedding from target. Is red, blue, green, yellow, and brown. Affordable, plus will go with my hopeful chocolate brown walls.

2nd Baby Purchase
This is our future kid!
This is future Baby Landis. I put our photos into a little a program and out came our little one. I think it's about 95% accurate. ;) I kinda think he looks like an elf. BTW even the internet thinks I'm having a boy, convincing me it's a girl. When people usually really think they have a hunch about something it's usually wrong. So for now I'll go with the opposite and assume Baby Landis is a chica.

Nursery Ideas
I ran across a nursery I absolutely loved. So I think if it's a boy I'll go with chocolate brown walls. I hate "baby" colors anyways and this is very cool.
Here is the crib I've selected. I just hope it doesn't sell out!
12 Weeks~little plum
Today I'm 12 weeks so here are my baby bump pics. The baby is about the size of a plum and all the vital organs are formed and will go through fine tuning during the next 28 weeks. I don't really see much difference in the past two weeks but I guess it's fun to document. If anything I think I look smaller since the bloating is going down. Maybe in a few weeks! It is strange to have a child the size a plum in there but no real impact. Good news this week I have been accepted as a patient at The Birth Center in Chapel Hill. Very natural, holistic, hippy, and I love it! I'm off to the beach this w.e. to wear a bikini for probably one of the last times for awhile. :)

10 week 6 day ultrasound
Today was my second OB appointment. They did another low level ultrasound to see the heartbeat. You can definitely tell a big growth spurt in the past 4 weeks. This is a view of the baby from the side so at the top is the head and if you look to the right of that you can see a tiny arm. The blurry object further to the right is the umbilical cord. I think I can see a little leg at the bottom end as well. Anyways everything is looking good! I haven't gained a single pound surprisingly. I think the culprit is me being to exhausted to work out and losing my muscle mass. But, soon I should start to gain a pound a week.

First Baby Purchase!
So I finally broke down today and made my first baby purchase. Cute little overalls for next summer. I probably wouldn't have purchased them other than the fact I was eyeing them last week at Target and today they were 50% off. Woo hoo! I love bargain shopping. I think it is a baby boy outfit but I figured it was pretty gender neutral. Just put something pink underneath it and very girly. You can know awww at our child's future stylish attire.

Telling the parents
To break the news we just decided to give a "Grandpa" bib thinking it would speak for itself. Kinda backfired.
~Immediately Barbara gets it! Meanwhile Dad is laughing.
~5 Minutes later my Dad realizes that the bib is in meant for our future child not the present grandchildren. Wish we had a picture of the shocked face.
~The Bib! Can be used for Grandfather or Grandchild.
