ErgoBABY!

Thanks to selling our Wii Fit game I was able to order a new Ergobaby carrier. Since the snazzy retro green color I wanted was out of stock at all the boutiques around here I ordered it online. I ordered yesterday around 3pm and it got here today at 1pm! That has to be the fastest shipping that has ever occured. On top of that I didn't have to pay shipping. So if you need some baby gear go to diapers.com. They have lots of cool stuff. Don't we look cozy!?! This always can be used as a back carry, or hip carry and can carry a child until 40lbs or something nuts. I'm looking forward to trying it out this w.e. Hopefully Emerson is too!

Pocketful of Sunshine

Isn't she a cutie? I'm just loving her new onesie and it includes my favorite color combo right now pink and orange. So fun, cheery, and happy. I was pretty stoked that her yellow headband went with it as well. We have been adding that to almost every outfit. Thankfully she can wear yellow because I can't and I just love it! Little Miss E. is either going to grow up to love bright colors like me or loathe them because I constantly dress her in shocking combinations.
Before
I edited this picture to a funky color but I couldn't tell which I liked better so here is both for you to enjoy.
After
It's a little funky, right? But strangely cool. I was pretty impressed I took these pictures of her yesterday considering I wasn't feeling so well. I was feeling all achy and not so great combined with soreness in the food station for Emerson so I decided to call the trusty midwives. Turns out I more than likely have Inflammatory Mastitis. Awesome. But, luckily since I don't have a fever it should go away on it's on and it's not infectious. If it turns infectious it can get pretty ugly recalling antibiotics.
Even though I was feeling rough I decided to take E. on a walk because A. I haven't exercised in forever and B. that means the dog hasn't either which causes all kinds of chaos and neurotic behavior. I've set the date at 6 months to start running again once I can use my jogging stroller. But, after my rough tiring walk yesterday I know I have a long road of getting back into shape ahead of me.

Anyways isn't Emerson a scary combo of color and patterns. :) I decide to take a walk around 10:30 because Emerson hadn't gone for a nap and I knew the stroller would put her out.

I had her covered up from the blaring sun so when I got home this is how my passed out baby looked. She created her own sleeping mask! She is super savvy. On a side note did anyone watch "So you think you can Dance"? I missed it for the first time this season and I don't have dvr so I'm desperate to know what happened. If you don't know what I'm talking about you need to check it out because it really is the best show EVER! Well, reality wise.

Tuesday Ramblings

E. has just been full of smiles lately. Happy as can be. She wakes up in a super good mood and it lasts for majority of the day. I am getting better at being able to document her smiles. This is picture is only partially crooked. Big improvement, huh?
Emerson has become increasingly interested in toys. So anytime I find that she loves something I want her to have it. :) I don't think obsession starts with children, it starts with the parents wanted to make their kids happy. I just love seeing her excited about something. So the latest toy she tried to steal from her cousin Avery. So I figured to keep the peace we should get her very own glow seahorse. It's so cute and plays some soothing music with a water noise in the background. E. loves to put the horse because it of course is super soft and cuddly. Next up hopefully will be a crawl ball. Our neighbor has one and it's the coolest thing. It has all kinds of buttons, noises, etc. and moves around the floor.
Of course the seahorse doesn't always guarantee smiles.
But, feet surely do! This is her favorite past time. This is a modified version. They are usually at her head.
The swing had gotten boring to Emerson so I attached the toys to it. The problem is she just wants to put them in her mouth, throwing herself forward. Luckily it still puts her to sleep. It just looks kind of painful doesn't it? If you are wondering she really is passed out here. At least she had the strength to hold on a bit. :) You may or may not have noticed I have a new etsy shop. (The link is in the sidebar). It's my attempt to be a SAHM yet not be broke. Ha. It's still a work in progress but tell everyone you know as I'm still awaiting my first sale!

Randomness

I bought this skirt on Target clearance in size 12 months. I guess it's suppose to be a mini skirt for toddlers because I put it on Emerson for fun and it fits her big cloth booty! It's about to mid calf but I think it look very cute.
Obviously Emerson agrees.
Or is bewildered. Is that my Mom behind the camera???
Our craft project for the week. Since someone who will remain nameless lost the frame I had in mind for these pics. Starts with a M. Yep, you got it! Mia lost the frame. :) Hopefully we can hang it on the wall this w.e. so it won't be amongst the diaper covers.

Emerson enduring some doggy slobber. She got her back with some aggressive fur pulling. So now Mia has been running in the opposite direction of Emerson. E. is sporting her new outfit that coordinates nicely with her bumbo. It's 3-6 months. :( She is getting big. Well, correction she is getting bigger. For my Mommy tip of the week if you want to dare and take your baby to a restaurant. Believe me it is sometimes scary! Try the mexican one. Emerson had a blast last night staring at all the festive decor and bright colors. She also enjoyed the spanish speaking waitstaff. I think she thought her Dad might be close by.

Our little beauty

I know I'm her Mom but she really takes the best pictures. I think she looks so beautiful and sweet right here. It's a little deceiving as she is rarely this still anymore. The trick was to put her in her crib where she can be mesmerized by her bird and tree bumper. It's bright green, pink, blue, yellow, and brown dots. So obviously you can help but stare at it. I had to get a picture of her in this onesie because I just love it and it sadly is almost too small. :( I figured we would try to get one or two more wears out of it. Unfortunately I think she wore it for about an hour before it was drenched in a diaper accident.
Sitting Pretty
E. has recently gained some major back muscles and been able to prop herself up sitting. I think she definitely will be sitting by 6 months. Here we are practicing in the crib. Don't worry I usually don't prop her beside a wooden rail. This was strictly for a photo op. I was there to catch her as she face planted into the mattress. Luckily she is super flexible so when she falls from sitting she bends and half and goes straight for her feet. So it's a win-win for her.

Pretending to nap
Oops! I've been caught!
Yesterday I put Emerson down for a nap while I ate my lunch. She looked super still so I assumed she was passed out. Much to my surprise when I walked to the kitchen she was just laying peacefully but NOT sleeping. I guess that's better than nothing, right? This was her reaction when she noticed I was around.
Just because..
I took this picture 2 weeks ago but just recently got around to editing and I love it. She look super fiesty, don't you think? But, at the same time still very much ladylike. She is already a true southern girl! I just want to add that 4 times in the past week I have been told that Emerson looks just like me! I was so flattered because of course I want to take any credit I can get for her cuteness. Also these were people who are not related to either Mark or myself so I feel like that's pretty legitimate. ;) I did look at a few of my baby pictures last week and I must say Emerson may look like me but she is much cuter than I ever was. Again I can say this because I am her Momma. If you guys say that it might hurt my feelings. Hehe.
Being adored
Here is E. being adored by her cousin Ashley who stopped by for a visit. She always seems shocked that people are so interested in her. Ha. See the surprised look. Alright I guess that is all for one of longest, most picture filled post in awhile. Enjoy!

FYI- I hear people say sometimes they didn't know I posted something...Well you can follow the blog so you will always know! It's on the side bar where it says you know, FOLLOWERS. :) So if you have a blog or gmail account there is no excuse. If not a good rule of thumb is a typically post a few times a week. So there you go!

My Social Butterfly

Last week we had a playdate with Emerson's neighbor friend. He is 1 month older. He had about 100 more toys than Emerson so she was pretty entertained. But, of course what happens when you get 2 babies together usually one is crying and it's tough to get them to both be happy at the same time. Although Emerson found it to be a perfect nap place. She slept for 45 minutes, which rarely happens. So I was able to get some cute sleeping shots.

When they find their feet

Emerson has become very interested in her feet today. Now her toes are her new pacifier.
Since I took the picture with my webcam I can make an appearance. Ignore my silly face. I was trying to make her smile. But, instead she the "Are you nuts?" look. I changed the header on the blog today. Hopefully it's not too busy. I was in the mood for something new and we have so many good pictures I want to show off of Emerson. In other random news Emerson has been scooting. I don't know if this is normal for her age but, she can tuck under her knees lift up and go forward. Poor thing has rug burn on her knees. Also I would like to add my Mommy Tip of the Day. Always bring a change of baby clothes in your diaper bag. Even if it's for a very short trip to target. That's speaking from experience. I won't go into to details but what happened wasn't pretty. You can use your imagination.

Emerson's Laugh

This is Emerson's sweet laugh that she started about 3 weeks ago. I just love it. Now if I could only figure out how to make her do it all the time!

Happy BFP Day!

A year ago today I found out I was pregnant with Little Emerson. It only took 3 pregnancy tests and somehow I was convinced they probably weren't that accurate. That was until I called the Dr. to ask for a test. Here is how it went. "Hi, I think I'm pregnant. Can I come in for a test?" Dr. office, "Did you take a home test?" Me, "Ummm, yeah. About 3." Dr. office, " Well, they are pretty accurate. Congratulations!" So word to the wise. If you have a positive pregnancy test there is a 95% chance you are pregnant. Especially if it is a digital test that spell it out for you. :)
This was my first baby bump "bloat" photo probably around 5 weeks. I remember feeling completely huge. Don't you just want to smack this girl? Ha. I do.

This is when I felt like I was starting to show to everyone else. Around 16 weeks. By then my bump was hard not just a bunch of squish.
Then by 20 weeks I looked like I had smuggled a basketball. Darn small torso. Believe it or not this was around the time I was most uncomfortable with hip, and round ligament pain.
By the beginning of my third trimester I was feeling heavy. This was around 28-29 weeks. This is my SIL I guess at about 19 weeks pregnant. One way to make a pregnant woman fell huge is put her beside someone who isn't as far along as she is. Haha.
By 34 weeks I was feeling pretty good thanks to regular chiropractor appointments. Unless I walked up a hill or stairs and I felt like my baby might fall out. Ha. We took my maternity pictures in a hurry because Emerson had already dropped and we were told she would be early. Little did we know that meant eviction. I miss that belly. It was a good armrest.

This is my last "official" belly shot. We took a few while waiting at the hospital. This is the night we drove to the hospital. I cried the whole way there. Very emotional night full of fear,
and uncertainty.

But, this little face made it all worth it. This past year has been a roller coaster full of change, and emotions. But, I'm so glad things have turned out the way they did. Emerson is just proof that God truly has a plan for us.

Birth Center Article

Here is an article a ran across about the birth center where I went during my pregnancy. I think she sums up the pros pretty nicely and it coincides with what I experienced there. Even though we didn't end up delivering there I would consider it an awesome experience. I love midwives!
