Here are some pics of the showers that we were lucky enough to have people throw for us. People were so generous and we got tons of cute stuff for Emerson. Thank you to everyone! Yes, I did wear the same shirt to two showers but clothes get limited once you get so big.

34 weeks nearing the end!
I'm now 34 weeks. That means we are 3 weeks away from being full term and 6 weeks from the guess date. I'm not really sure where the time went but I'm starting to freak out. I wouldn't call it nesting because I'm not organized enough to actually accomplish much. :) Hopefully I can get my butt in gear to finish up everything and be pretty prepared in the next few weeks. But we did get a car seat so if she decides to grace us with her appearance early we can take her home. I do still need to finish up my nursery painting and assemble everything. I know it doesn't matter a whole lot since she will be sleeping in the room with us for awhile but it makes me feel better for some reason. I've also been going to the chiropractor since it was determined that Emerson is diagonal and my left hip is higher than the right. Which means my pelvis is not ideal for getting a baby turned around. So little Emerson is more comfortable crooked than in the proper position. But, after two weeks I'm feeling a lot better and I hope Emerson finds some room to flip completely around. Also I learned that pregnant women who have chiropractor care have their birth time reduced by 24% ! Which sounds awesome to me. In other news we have decided to choose cloth diapers. Primarily because its better for the baby, and second because it's cheaper! We did all the calculations and found we could save almost $2000.00 give or take in the first two years, and that accounts for water usage. I know its probably not the most mainstream choice but I'm really happy with our decision. Emerson will be healthier and more comfortable and we'll have more $ in our pockets. Win, win! Plus I've always been a little hippy anyways. ;) So I'm very excited to get all our supplies together. If anything else she will be adorable in her diapers. How freaking cute are these?!?

29.5 week Belly Pic
Here is my most recent baby bump pic taken on xmas day. Officially in the third trimester I'm starting to feel the discomfort. Sleeping is tough, eating results in indigestion, and I'm pretty sore from carrying the extra weight around. Not that I want to complain because I'm nowhere ready for her to make her arrival. Currently with only 7 weeks until she is welcome to make an appearance I'm getting sad at the idea of missing her kicks and constant presence. Hopefully when its closer to the right time I will be in a better mood about it since I don't won't her to get the idea she can stay in there forever. :) I've moved into seeing the midwife every two weeks now until I'm full term and hopefully today they will be able to tell her position. I think she has turned around since I've been getting kicked in my ribs and she likes to tickle my lower abdomen with her fingers. Its very bizarre now that I can feel actually body parts. Proof that she is much bigger than a month ago. I can see pointy knees protruding from my stomach and feel her little feet as she stretches out. In nursery news I'm prepping to paint some trees on the walls and hang some letters very soon. I hope to have everything organized by the end of January. Giving us plenty of time to focus on other things. I'll leave you with a few pics of Mia and Marlow from xmas. Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas Emerson!

Name revealed.
So we have chosen a name. Not recently but I guess we are just getting around to letting everyone else in on the secret. We have had it picked out since my ultrasound in October. Her name will be Emerson Kaye Landis. Emerson just because I love it, and Kaye after my Mom. My SIL kindly pointed out her monogram will be ELK. haha. Which is better than a whole lot of other initials people's names spell. So we are very excited to call her by name and have that part of the equation squared away. This w.e. Emerson was treated to lots of music. We think she might have a thing for music since she went crazy each time. Friday we went to our church's christmas musical. She bounced around the whole time. Then Saturday we went to see John Legend, which was awesome!! She kicked and squirmed for the whole four hours. I can just see her now dancing as a toddler. Maybe she will have some moves like Mark. In growth updates she is probably around 2lbs and the midwife says by my next appt. at 30 weeks they should be able to feel her position. Right now she is still doing flips quite often and always keeping me surprised as to where she is. According to the nest she is the size of an eggplant. Which I can definitely attest to when she feels like bouncing on my bladder. Mark has also even heard the heartbeat by putting his head to my belly. Pretty cool. I hope to have more frequent updates in the future. Stay tuned!

23 week belly pics

Here are my 23 week belly pics one week late. Little chica has been quite a kicker lately. I can literally see my belly move which is a little creepy and fun at the same time. I'm slowly transitioning into maternity clothes. Finally! I can still wear my pants with my bellaband but it's pretty painful. Luckily a friend gave me two pairs of maternity pants and it's awesome. Feels so much better! I did buy a long sleeve maternity tee two a few weeks back and it's almost already too small. :( So I'm trying to hold off as long as possible as it seems my clothes aren't gone to have much longevity. For now I'm stretching out my poor clothes and looking ridiculous. In other news we started childbirth classes and I love it! Mark and I are really enjoying them and learning a lot. One of the best parts of the class is the homemade snacks. haha. We are also learning to tune out negativity. So if you don't have anything positive to say I don't want to hear it! ;) This means please don't tell me how much pain I'll be in, or that I'm nuts. I'll survive and I'll be much better off without the horror stories. Now that's off my chest...We also have started the nursery. Paint color is picked out, and the crib assembled. I'll post update pics when ever I get them uploaded. Mia on the other hand is a little bummed her bed is gone. But, it has forced her to spend more time with us. I've seen her more in the past week then I've seen her in the past 3 years. To make the transition easier I place her bed in the floor, so she hangs out there during the day wondering what the heck is going on. I started saying the word baby to her the other day and she whined. I'm not really sure what that means but I think she is sensing all the changes and doesn't know what to make of it. Poor little pup.
